the letter she never sentWhich is unfortunate, because examining things too closely is usually how they start.
Horror, thrillers, speculative fiction, dark romance and fantasy. Different genres, same bad habit: take something familiar, question one small detail everyone else seems perfectly happy to accept, and follow it until the entire premise becomes somebody's problem.
Sometimes the monsters aren't monsters. Sometimes the person saving you is worse. Sometimes cheating Death turns out to be a spectacularly bad idea.
Basically, if a story has rules, I'm probably going to interfere with them.
And don't get too attached to anyone...

Humour has always been how I deal with things that are uncomfortable, frightening, painful or just spectacularly shit. If something goes wrong, there's a very good chance I'll make a joke about it before I've properly processed what happened. Sometimes approximately three business days before.

Someone thinks dubious consent, serial killers, psychological abuse, gore, toxic relationships or whatever fresh hell they've encountered on BookTok this week. And someone, somewhere, thinks a morally grey man saying mine while leaning against a doorframe counts.

Clinical Judgement follows two surgeons who have spent their careers deciding who lives, who dies, and what happens to the bodies entrusted to them. Behind the doors of a respected hospital, medicine becomes opportunity, ethics become negotiable, and the oath to do no harm develops some increasingly creative interpretations.
Angel of Mercy. Angel of Hope. Angel of Death.
There are worse things than dying on their table.
Humanity didn't die. It changed.
The world ended with the living turning on each other. Those left behind know the rules: avoid the infected, survive the bite, and never mistake what they used to be for what they are now.
But the longer humanity survives, the less those rules seem to explain.
Not every story needs a sequel.
These standalone novels explore one impossible idea, one broken rule, or one question that refuses to behave itself, then follow the consequences all the way to the end. Expect speculative horror, psychological unease, dark relationships, identity, mortality, and stories designed to leave a mark without requiring another book to finish the job.
